Corporate History

HSG is a woman-owned business founded in 2008 by Christine Herndon. HSG first started developing business relationships within the Las Vegas Valley, including the City of Henderson, HSG’s first customer.

Over the next two years, HSG continued to build its state and local relationships by providing environmental compliance and emergency preparedness services to customers such as the Clark County Water Reclamation District (Nevada), Otay Water District (California), and Long Beach Water Department (California). HSG also subcontracted to several businesses with prime federal contracts, supporting agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). In 2010, HSG received a Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) designation and was awarded its first 8(a) set-aside contract as a prime contractor for the Department of Interior (DOI).

Over the next several years, HSG continued to grow its federal business, leveraging the benefits of the SBA 8(a) program through 8(a) sole-source awards, set-asides, and joint ventures and earning prime contracts with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), and USACE. In 2013, HSG entered into an SBA 8(a) Mentor-Protégé agreement and formed the populated joint venture Integrated Mission Support Services (IMSS). In 2015, IMSS, with HSG as the managing member, was awarded the Kennedy Environmental and Medical Contract (KEMCON) for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC). Concurrently with that award, HSG continued to grow its NASA portfolio with program awards at NASA’s Langley Research Center (LaRC) and Glenn Research Center (GRC). In 2020, HSG was awarded the follow-on contract to KEMCON, the NASA Environmental and Medical Contract (NEMCON). HSG is currently providing services at four NASA centers, as well as NASA Headquarters (HQ). In 2019, HSG successfully graduated from the SBA 8(a) program and, in 2022, was named Nevada 8(a) Graduate of the Year and Region IX 8(a) Graduate of the Year.
