Environmental and Safety
HSG manages the health and wellness of the environment through compliance surveys, performing site assessments, conducting ecological sampling analysis and monitoring, managing administrative records, and implementing management systems.
Multimedia Environmental Compliance Assessments – we perform multimedia compliance assessment including hazardous materials; hazardous waste; petroleum, oil, and lubricants; environmental management systems; air emissions; storage tanks; wastewater; water quality; air emissions; pesticide management; toxic substances; solid waste; cultural resources; and natural resources. Our assessments take into consideration federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal directives. Reports are prepared about each finding and regulatory driver. Recommendations are then made to correct the area of non-compliance.
Plan, Procedure, and Report Development – we prepare plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with federal, state, local, and internal directives or policies. Examples include, but are not limited to, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act Tier I/Tier II and Title III inventory and reporting, hazardous materials and/or waste management plans, Risk Management Plans, and environmental compliance records management.
Site Assessments – we provide site assessments support to our clients via technical research and report writing, as well as oversight at contaminated sites. We research potentially or known contaminated sites to ascertain a history of operations, including site owners, to assist our client in understanding a site's history and learning about those that may be responsible for contamination. Furthermore, we support active cleanup sites, whether managing the administrative record (i.e., site records), conducting field oversight, or providing subject-matter experts.
Records Management – we manage large administrative records whether for RCRA, CERCLA, and/or NEPA. We manage the records and index them according to industry standard practices, as well as project and client objectives. We have created databases to manage large record systems that include administrative, client, and public access portals.
Management Systems – we have proven experience in developing and accessing Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and other customized management systems, working closely with customers to ensure their systems are specifically tailored to the organization’s needs. Benefits of a management system include reduced risk, environmental impact, and operating costs; visibility of management support; enhanced environmental stewardship; increased staff, vendor, and contractor awareness and participation; and increased customer and public trust.
LEED Certification – we assist in the process of achieving Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certifications, which is a green building certification program where credits are earned to achieve different levels of certification.
Water and Energy Conservation Plans – we have experience in developing, implementing and managing conservation programs that save precious resources. If the planning and execution of a program is not clearly defined beforehand you will not achieve the results needed to reduce consumption by utilizing staff and resources efficiently.
Community Involvement Plans – this is critical to the success of getting the community involved when introducing or implementing new ordinances, programs, or initiatives. We work with organizations in developing an effective plan to be used before, during and after implementation.
